i'm 20 years old and my friends and i are trying to take a trip to myrtle beach. i'm pretty sure you have to be 18 to rent a hotel room. but i heard 21 for renting condos or 25? any advice??How old do you have to be to rent a hotel room/house?
18 for hotel rooms. There is no nationally mandated age restriction for condos, because a condo is privately owned by a person or corporation. It would be up to each individual condo or house. Many rental properties will post the age minimum on their website upfront.
If you're going to try to get a house or condo, then simply be upfront about your situation: how many people are coming, the purpose for your visit. People like honesty. Girls also have a better chance at getting a nice rental because they (stereotypically, anyway) tend to be less crazy with drinking/partying/destroying beach houses than guys.
Expect home owners to be wary, especially if you are renting during Spring Break, when young people are known to party hard. But otherwise don't be afraid to ask, and a warm personality and honesty doesn't hurt!How old do you have to be to rent a hotel room/house?
