Always reserve. Nothing worse than finding the hotel's full!
If your going to a high class place, you better reserve and room. If it's sort of like a road side hotel or something like that just go in and they should have a room for you.

u can reserve a room but if there r room which r vacant and not reserved by someone u can get it!
You do not have to reserve a room in advance, but be aware that they may not have any openings when you get there depending on the season, or any events such as college graduation, football games etc...





FYI; if you choose to reserve a room in advance, you will need to hold it on a major credit card with at least that amount on it, regardless of the method in which you will be paying upon checkout.





I reccommend reserving a room, this makes for a speedier check in, and also gives the employees time to meet your needs for any special requests. (extra pillows, crib, gaming systems etc..)

If it's a busy city, or if the hotel is around a place where a lot of people go to on vacation, then you might wanna go ahead and reserve.


If it's just a normal stop on a road trip, you don't really have to.
If its a busy or popular location then you should try to reserve it as early as possible. If its a lower end hotel or motel, or in a location where there are a lot of options for lodging, you can usually get one right away, if they are not full.





One time I was driving through a city late at night since I was road tripping sorta, and I ended up staying in a really nice suite for half price because I arrived so late. Usually you would need a reservation for even a hotel that nice, so it also depends on circumstances.
