I'm travelling to UAE with my boyfriend. Will we be able to share a hotel room? Heard they are strict about it?

As a tourist, they are not that strict, esp if you are staying in a hotel.

FYI, upon check in, only one passport is asked (even if it is a double room).

There should not be any problem sharing a hotel room. The problem is when the couple starts to show affection in public, consume alcohol in undesignated places or wearing very inappropriate clothing.

Please note that Dubai is more liberal than other emirates. In Sharjah, for example, ladies are not allowed to wear sleeveless or tight fitting tops, shorts, miniskirts and unmarried couples are not allowed even to hold hands! Men are not allowed to wear shorts in public too! all these are tolerated in Dubai and Abu Dhabi...why? because there are different rulers in each emirate, apart from the president of UAE (for federal issues).I'm travelling to UAE with my boyfriend. Great advice Moonatic. Go to a country with which are probably some of the strictest laws on the planet with fake documentation! That wouldn't be very wise even in a more liberal country. Just go on holidays and enjoy yourself, sleeping apart for a couple of nights won't harm you, but fake docs will.I'm travelling to UAE with my boyfriend. Will we be able to share a hotel room? Yeah , You will be able to sleep in the same room. The rule is that you can't live with someone you are not married to but they will for sure let you stay in the same room.
