How much does a hotel room in Italy cost? We want to go there next year. please indicate currency - USD/CDN?

Speaking from personal experience, I would re-join the Hosteling International organisation again before travelling so as to take advantage of their low rates and excellent services! You don't have to be a kid in college to use their services. They offer adult memberships and even family packages and accomodations.

I made my first European visit in 1994 and stayed in youth hostels in the UK, Belgium and Holland. I was satisfied with my rooms, beds, security features and the shower facilities at each stop, as well as the complimentary breakfast they gave us each morning. It isn't as great as having a private hotel room every night, but it isn't horrid either!

There are small downsides; you need to find a travel supplier (I strongly recommend Rick Steve's website, AND his travel guide books) for items like a ';sleep sack';, you provide your own towels, etc. But all in all, it's a cheaper alternative to costly hotels.

Another alternative is to purchase a package deal for your travel that will include a hotel for an area as well as travel between places or tours of interest.

Good luck and happy trails! CheersHow much does a hotel room in Italy cost? We want to go there next year. please indicate currency - USD/CDN?
circa 25/30 euro for personHow much does a hotel room in Italy cost? We want to go there next year. please indicate currency - USD/CDN?
Unlike the previous response, you probably mean the cost to stay at a hotel, not buy a room...in any case, the range of hotel costs is so vast that it would be impossible to answer without more information.

For starters, the price range is totally different depending on if you want a 1 star, 2 star, etc...5 star hotel. And then it matters where in Italy you will be going. North and South have very different prices. Cities versus smaller towns vary. So, there is no one answer to your question, as it isn't specific enough.

P.S. Canada is great-and prices vary there too, don't they!
I don't know of anybody who would actually buy a whole hotel room.A hotel maybe....
