You can pay in cash, but you will either have to leave a credit cards for incidentals and then pay at check out or a deposit for the full room plus tax amount and some extra just as a deposit in case room damages, ect. I used to work at the front desk of a hotel and the customer has to leave a deposit of 75.00 per night for incidentals plus as mentioned before the full room cost. the incidentals amount varies from hotel to hotel.

Also you will mostly likely need to present a form of ID (where I used to work we would photocopy the id and attach the copy to the check in paperwork. In case there is an incident and/or the customer skips owing money (minibar, ect). Can a person pay for a hotel room in cash? And do they ask for some form of ID if you do pay with cash?
Yes, you can pay for any hotel room in cash, although they will ask for a credit card number if you want to make a reservation.

It is required by law for hotels to have valid ID information for all registered guests, and most hotels will require you to present your ID.
yes you can. there is a no need for id.
Yes, you can pay in cach, but usuallly some form of identification is required.

If there is damages to the room, or items missing, they need to be able to prove who was renting the room.

If they ask for ID and you refuse, they most likely will not rent you the room.
